# The SEWP V Extension: What’s Happening?

NASA is seeking to extend the SEWP V (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement) contract through September 30, 2026. This extension is a strategic move to ensure government-wide IT procurement remains uninterrupted while NASA manages two major hurdles:

⟼ Legal Challenges: Resolving 10 [active](https://www.nextgov.com/emerging-tech/2026/03/nasa-seeks-extension-sewp-v-sept-30/412062/?oref=ng-homepage-river) GAO bid protests that are not expected to be cleared until mid-2026.
